Becoming A Poll Worker

Have you ever thought about becoming a poll worker?  Poll workers are the heart of every Election.  Becoming a poll worker identifies you as someone who cares about civic duty and demonstrates pride in serving your fellow citizens.  Poll workers are a vital part of the democratic process by ensuring free and fair elections.  For county wide elections the Supervisor of Elections hires poll workers to staff each polling location.  The number of poll workers needed may be different for each election.

Please review the following information. Then if you are interested in joining our team your may call our office at 850.229.6117 or email us at gcsoe@votegulf.gov.

What to Expect

Poll workers are required to attend mandatory training sessions.  You will be assigned to a polling location.  Every effort will be made to assign you to your voting precinct, however needs may dictate you being assigned outside or your precinct.  Based on needs for each election, not all poll workers may be asked to work for each election.  You will be required to arrive at an established time before the polls open and remain until you are released by the Clerk after poll closing.  It will be a long but rewarding day.  You will not be able to leave the polling location until after the polls close.
